Manual BiSlide® Left-Right Screw Motion

When the knob is turned, two objects sharing a common axis of movement move toward or away from each other.

This configuration is very useful for applications where two objects must share a common axis of movement. This assembly incorporates two carriages driven by a single right- and left-hand threaded lead screw. When the knob is turned, the carriages simultaneously move toward or away from each other.

Note: Maximum carriage separation = distance of travel – (4.6″ x 2).
Travel of each carriage = separation / 2

Left Right Screw Motion

Here is an example of a left-right screw motion motorized linear translation stage using BiSlide®. In this configuration, both carriages move along a shared axis. When the motor is activated, the two payloads either move toward each other or away from each other, depending on the screw rotation direction.

In manually operated applications backlash can be adjusted to near 0.
