The Velmex XSlide™ Assembly is a compact, high-performance positioning stage designed for precision incrementing and scanning of smaller loads. Its space-efficient design makes it ideal for applications with limited room, while its hard-coat anodized aluminum dovetail ways and smooth motion PTFE bearings provide exceptional rigidity, longevity, and precise movement.
With a load capacity of 35 lbs. (15.9 kg) horizontally and 10 lbs. (4.5 kg) vertically, XSlide™ offers a maximum travel of 30.5″ (77.5 cm). The carriage rides on the outside of the dovetail ways, allowing for a more compact structure and easy access for adjustments. Fine-tuning and wear compensation can be performed effortlessly without removing the payload.
Available in both manual and motorized configurations, XSlide™ delivers reliable, smooth motion for demanding positioning applications.
XSlide™ Free Sliding Linear Stages
Free Sliding XSlide™ is the simplest assembly where the slider is moved by hand. This features a linear dovetail bearing for smooth motion. Travel distances to 30.5” (77.5 cm).

XSlide™ Motorized Linear Stages
XSlide™ is a compact positioning stage for smaller loads and ideal for limited space applications, highly suitable for either high performance incrementing or scanning functions. Motorized XSlide Lead Screw Driven Assemblies are available in eight standard travel distances.
Converting Manual XSlide™ Assemblies to Motorized
XSlide™ Assemblies are not user-convertible and can only be modified at the factory. Therefore, it’s important to purchase the version that meets your specific needs from the start. However, Velmex does offer XSlide™ Stages that come pre-configured for both manual and motorized operation, utilizing a double-shaft stepper motor.
While options and accessories—such as revolution counters—can be added after the initial purchase, doing so typically requires returning the assembly to the factory. This is due to the need for special adjustments, possible machining, and additional hardware. A nominal fee applies for reconfiguring assemblies.
